Bucket Explorer New Release – Support for AWS Export

Tuesday, Mar 30th 2010

With the announcement of AWS Export  by Amazon S3 last week, we are pleased to announce the support for AWS Export feature with the latest release of Bucket Explorer. Bucket Explorer already supported AWS Import in earlier version. Now you can create Import and Export job using Bucket Explorer. Bucket Explorer also provides you a formatted printable package slip, which you are required to attach with your storage device while sending to Amazon S3.

Advantage of AWS Import/Export

AWS Import/Export speeds up moving bulk data out of and into AWS by using the portable storage device provided to AWS for operation. AWS Import/Export uses its high speed internal network to copy the data.

With faster internal network connection, it takes much lesser time and it is cost effective  than internet transfer of the same data.

If you need to transfer larger amounts of data, it is a better option to use AWS Import/Export than to upgrade your internet connectivity.
